1MM for 1M KIDS
When I began my work with YFC in 1988 I could have never imagined the journey ahead. The early days of running Campus Life clubs in San Diego; meeting students, Utah ski trips, Baja surf trips, early morning Denny’s bible studies, late night broom ball… ending at TGI Friday’s… it was incredible.
As the Executive Director of YFC in North San Diego in the 90’s it was more of the same, just more kids. Bus loads of kids heading to Knott’s Scary Farm, a growing staff and even more important, formidable relationships with kids who to this day are walking with serving Jesus themselves. In 2000 I made the move to Sacramento to work with that incredible team. What a gift to be welcomed to NorCal and share in the development of Crossover Youth Basketball, Point Break, Campus Life and even dream a bit with Jonathan McKee about CampusLife.com and the early beginnings of TheSource4YM.com. In 2005 Dan Wolgemuth, YFC’s CEO, and Dr. Dave Rahn invited me to YFC’s National Office where we built and developed national ministry leaders, invested in YFC’s Young Leaders. We took big swings to grow the mission with more and better sites, leaders and cities.
All along the way, Jesus kept pushing me to share His Story through my own. Whether at camps, conferences, banquets or events, this mission of reaching every kid with the Gospel propelled me. My weakness became His platform… for HIs Glory. Flight after flight, mile after mile the mission was served… over 1 million miles on behalf of reaching 1 million kids. Who could have imagined… But God!
On June 30, 2024… 36 years in the mission of YFC… I stepped out into a new journey. WIth gratitude and amazing memories.
Thank you YFC!
